How did Mesh Training come to be?

Since we started university, Robert and I have always been driven by technology, whether it’s CAD software, speaker design, or medical technology. In 2022, we were presented with the opportunity to apply to become Gravity Sketch Student Ambassadors. It was a no-brainer. The software’s ability to design and build something in an infinite space and remotely collaborate with others around the world were the main draws for us; we couldn’t let this opportunity go to waste. Once we had been accepted and we had our first training session, I remember calling Rob and just talking about its endless possibilities and what we could do for our final year of studies.

As our training was completed and we returned to university, we both had a drive to share what we learned with others. We didn’t want anything in return, but it was too valuable not to share. Using the university's fleet of headsets that had Gravity Sketch ready and waiting to be used, we took the opportunity to start small group sessions with fellow final-year students. As word got out about Gravity Sketch’s benefits, we were approached by students to conduct one-on-one sessions that were tailored towards their minor projects. As the year went on, we started teaching more group sessions and finished the year teaching timetabled sessions with first and second years across product design. With other courses wanting to get in on the action, we were approached by interior architecture and delivered an introductory session to tutors and lecturers. Throughout every session, there were instances where you saw staff and students have a lightbulb moment and realise the potential of the software for their work. The more we saw of this, the clearer it became that there was a great opportunity that could not go to waste, and in August 2023, Mesh Training was created.

As we go on this journey, we can’t wait to share our experiences and skills with the creative world. Get in touch to find out how we can help!
